Case Study

Need
There was a need for multi-level feedback in a client's Asian operations. In a largely research oriented, multicultural and highly educated group, the need for the diversity and richness of a multi-level feedback was greatly felt.

Intervention
A 360 degree feedback survey was initiated. It involved the senior staff since it was felt that this exercise was best initiated at the top.

Jigyasa custom designed the feedback form, collated and analysed the data gathered and provided one-on-one feedback. The exercise was then successfully carried out for another business unit in Malaysia and Germany.

The exercise helped them in the following ways:

It provided feedback that helped most of the respondents. It provided them insights into their way of work which they would not have realised in the normal course of work. Comprehensive feedback can be critical in a multicultural environment.
It was an eye-opener for some managers who were poor in people skills. (Peer pressure sometimes works better than the feedback provided by the immediate superior.)
The participants were able to use their strengths and weaknesses as brought out by the feedback to draw out individual action plans. These strengths and weaknesses were mapped with their training requirements.
This was the first step towards a more open culture in the organization, where the employees became more receptive to feedback.
